This is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody or release, post bond, release anyone, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the agency that holds the record.

Rains County Jail and Records
For a recent Rains County jail departure, ask the Sheriff’s Office to distinguish release to the community from transfer to another custodian. A written booking or release sheet can be requested through the official form. Administrative hours are records-office hours, not a published release schedule.
Rains County Sheriff’s Office & Jail
313 E. North StreetEmory, TX 75440
Phone: 903-473-3181
Fax: 903-473-5071
Records email: april.ureta@co.rains.tx.us
Administrative hours: Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; Friday, 8:00 a.m. to noon
Use the official sheriff page for its current form and contact details. Under the Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, a narrow written request should identify the person, date range, and desired release event. Copying or labor charges may apply. Ask for an existing electronic booking/release sheet and an itemized estimate before costly work begins. The February 24, 2026 fee schedule is the source for the published rates; the live sheriff page should be checked for the newest form.
Texas Corrections Information
A county-jail release is not found through TDCJ unless the person entered state custody. The TDCJ inmate search covers people currently incarcerated in a TDCJ facility. For incarceration history or an actual release or discharge date, use the TDCJ offender-information email channel and provide a full name, seven-digit TDCJ number when known, date of birth or age, and county of conviction.

Where to Look
Each route answers a different question. The links below lead to explanations or official systems rather than a private custody desk.
- For a named released person or a written release record, begin with the Rains County search and records overview.
- For supervision after release, use Parole / Probation. County community supervision and state parole are separate.
- Because no official county feed was found, Released Last 24 Hours explains the precise date-range request.
- For timing or alerts, compare Inmate Release Date with the VINELink Release Check, which explains Texas IVSS.
- For a county jail event, contact the Sheriff’s Office & Jail. The facility page in the footer gives the same official route.
- For a sentenced state prisoner, use TDCJ. For supported federal or immigration custody, use the official BOP or ICE locator, not the county jail search.
